I start to explore with a build of underpaintings as a discovery process. I combine writing and painting until a story wants to emerge. What I dearly value is beauty in all its forms, and my highest intention is to honor wildlife.
I spent my professional life practicing as a physical therapist for decades. As a generational calling, my background in health and wellness began with my mother's legacy. She started one of the first exercise programs for women. I have always loved the arts and have dabbled in visual and fine art all my life. Now retired, I love to paint and write, and am part of a wonderful community of artists who practice an approach called Intentional Creativity. What I love most is that, aside from its legacy of amazing and powerful women, it comes from building trust in my own intuitive knowing and imagination. Now I paint from the inside out.
Painting and writing are the forms of self expression I choose, although there are endless ways to create. I encourage everyone to find their unique form of creativity. I see myself as a seed starter. I just love gardening as a metaphor for bringing others' dreams to life.

If I could convince you of one thing, it would be that artistic vision is rooted in finding your passion with unspoken stories behind every stroke of the brush and pen. It is not about talent. Do you remember plunging in and painting with abandon in kindergarten? Like Michelangelo's sculptures freeing themselves from the stone, you can learn how to let go of what gets in the way, and realize the truly unique, creative spirit that is yours.
